Place Name Origin: The community was named after Queen Elizabeth II's summer home - Sandringham Parish and Royal Mansion. This mansion has been in the royal family for generations.

Significant Facts about Sandringham
- Sandringham was founded in 1939 as part of a government land settlement movement to establish farming communities. The original plan was to settle 50 families at the site, but when World War II began it was decided to settle only half that number.
