Stag Harbour (pop. 243) is the most recent residential community on Fogo Island, with an influx of people from nearby Indian Islands. It is also within walking distance from the ferry terminal (Man O'War Cove).
Residents of Stag Harbour fished mainly for lobster and salmon. In earlier years men had to go to the lumber woods to supplement their income when the fishing season did not pay off. Stag Harbour with its natural beauty invites visitors for a stroll around the harbour, walks to nearby swimming ponds or just take in the peaceful atmosphere of this sleepy fishing village.
There are various services and tourist attractions available:
- Government Wharf
- 2 Churches
- Playground
- Unsupervised Swimming Area
- Stag Harbour Nuddick (hiking trail)
